We really enjoyed our first visit experience at the Card Not Present (CNP) Expo in Orlando! Warm weather, an awesome venue, and incredible company — what more could we ask for? To those of you that we met at our booth, thanks for stopping by!

Sift CEO Jason Tan gave a demo in the exhibit hall on Tuesday, May 19 covering the basics of machine learning. During this interactive and fast-paced presentation, Jason provided a quick run down on the how, what, and why of machine learning, as well as its applications to fighting fraud. At the end, we raffled off an Amazon Kindle Fire and Fraud Fighter swag kit to a lucky participant! On Wednesday, Jason participated in a panel discussion on using big data to fight fraud. The panel touched on various topics, centering on the challenges that machine learning companies face in adapting to ever-changing data sources and how machine learning is being used to catch fraud with unprecedented accuracy. It was a great opportunity to hear from vendors and merchants alike, and I was really impressed by the caliber of speakers on this panel and at the CNP Expo as a whole. All in all, being a part of the CNP Expo was educational and a lot of fun.
