We wrapped up the first half of 2025 with major product innovations, industry recognition, and critical insights into the changing face of fraud. In this roundup, we cover Sift’s latest research on AI-powered fraud, new tools to empower fraud teams, and how some of the world’s most forward-thinking companies are leveraging Sift to fight fraud without compromising user experience.
AI-Driven Fraud is Surging in 2025: Q2 Digital Trust Index
In June, we released our Q2 2025 Digital Trust Index, uncovering a growing risk gap between consumer sentiment and actual vulnerability to AI-generated fraud. The report reveals a dangerous “confidence paradox”—as awareness of generative AI increases, consumer concern about AI being used to defraud them is actually decreasing.
This shift is alarming. While familiarity with GenAI tools has grown, 27% of consumers who reported being targeted by AI-generated scams were successfully defrauded. That’s a 62% increase compared to 2024. Even more worrying, consumer anxiety around AI-enabled fraud has dropped from 79% in 2024 to just 61% today. The decline in perceived risk has created cover for increasingly sophisticated scams, putting both businesses and their customers at higher risk.

Sift Secures #1 Spot in All Fraud Prevention Categories in G2 2025 Summer Reports
Sift earned the #1 ranking across all fraud-related categories in the G2 2025 Summer Reports: Fraud Detection, E-Commerce Fraud Protection, and Risk-Based Authentication (RBA).
G2 is the world’s largest and most trusted software marketplace and Sift’s recognition is based on the reviews of 500 real Sift users, a 42% increase since the 2024 Summer Reports and 52% more reviews than the closest category competitor. This recognition is based on over 500 authentic reviews by real Sift users who have taken the time to share their experiences and feedback.
One customer shared: “We’ve been using Sift for over 8 years now, and it’s been nothing short of excellent. The platform is reliable, easy to work with, and constantly improves to stay ahead of new fraud trends. It’s a tool we trust and highly recommend to any business serious about fraud protection.”

How Top Brands are Leveraging Identity Trust XD
Sift’s Identity Trust XD framework empowers fraud and risk teams to make more precise, confident decisions by analyzing user behavior across multiple dimensions in real time. In Q2, we spoke with three customers—Alaska Airlines, Patreon, and Flywire—about how Identity Trust XD helps them protect their platforms while delivering seamless user experiences.
At Patreon, for example, their fraud team uses Sift to prioritize their focus on suspicious users while reducing friction for trusted customers. “Sift allows us, especially as a small team, to give our attention to the users we question the most, while allowing the users we trust to use our platform without any interruption,” explained Megan Doxtator, Fraud Operations Supervisor at Patreon. Sift Releases ActivityIQ and Other Product Innovations
Sift released several new capabilities in Q2 that provide fraud and risk teams with the actionable intelligence they need to make more confident risk decisions and strengthen identity trust.
One of the latest capabilities, ActivityIQ, leverages generative AI to better identify and surface account takeover (ATO) fraud patterns that might otherwise go undetected.
Built upon Activity Analyzer, which Sift announced earlier this year, ActivityIQ saves analysts significant time reviewing high risk sessions by summarizing risk patterns across multiple accounts simultaneously. The custom-trained LLM can save hundreds of hours, in aggregate, for customers using Sift’s account takeover solution to review risky sessions in the Sift Console.

In-Console Fraud Benchmarking with FIBR
Sift’s Fraud Industry Benchmarking Resource (FIBR) is now integrated directly into the Sift Console, providing customers with immediate access to their own fraud performance metrics compared against industry and global benchmarks.
This update allows fraud teams to compare their own key performance indicators—such as attack rates, chargebacks, and manual review rates—against peer and industry benchmarks, all without leaving the platform. This side-by-side comparison eliminates the need to navigate between multiple platforms to benchmark performance, enabling more efficient and confident data-driven fraud strategy decisions.

Sift Expands its Partner Program
To better support our growing network of partners, we expanded the Sift Partner Program in Q2. The revamped program introduces specialized tracks for referral partners, authorized resellers, and service providers—each aligned with unique revenue goals, certifications, and engagement models.
Whether you’re referring customers, embedding fraud protection into your own offerings, or helping customers deploy Sift, the updated program offers more ways to grow your business while enabling others to fight fraud more effectively.
