It was a dark and stormy night…
Okay, so maybe it was more like a semi-windy August day in the Financial District of San Francisco, but for the sake of setting the mood I’m sure you catch my drift. Five of us (two in-house designers, one marketing coordinator, one photographer, and one makeup artist) were hard at work.
Countless brainstorms had become concrete visions, which turned into logistics planning, trips to the costume store, booking a makeup artist, booking a photographer, and boom! – here we were, shooting an ad campaign to be seen by folks in San Francisco, New York, and London! Check out an example in the wild:

So what does it take for five people to coordinate the photos for a polished ad campaign in less than a day?
We were lucky enough to have one of our Graphic Designers, Fredy, volunteer to be transformed into four classic pop culture characters: Spock, Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker and Doctor Evil. Check out some of the behind-the-scenes photos captured below:

And for his last look, Fredy was an adorable pug. Ok, ok…so we weren’t able to transform Fredy into a pug but this little guy did pay us visits periodically throughout our day at the studio. If only we could have incorporated him into the campaign!
So there you have it: the recipe for an ad campaign, done completely in-house. We had an absolute blast not only conceptualizing our campaign but seeing it (and Fredy!) come to life in these four characters.
